Acupuncture and Pain
Acupuncture is based on natural laws describing the movement of life energy in nature and the body. This life energy, called ch’i, courses through the body in channels similar to rivers that course through the earth. When the ch’i in the body is full and moving properly, health is promoted. When the ch’i is moving disharmoniously, illness can begin resulting in pain symptoms. Inserting needles or applying heat to acupuncture points can help to redirect ch'i and help you feel better.

Acupuncture has been shown to help ease acute and chronic pain symptoms such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Migraine headaches and neck pain
  • Neuralgia
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Back pain, sciatica
  • Hip pain, elbow and wrist pain
  • TMJ, ear pain
  • Chronic pain, and acute injuries
  • Recovery from surgery
  • Menstrual pain and PMS
